SDBC Elite Team History   The SDBC Elite Cycling Team was established in 2004 with the goal of becoming the best cycling program in Southern California. In our first year, the team learned how to race as a cohesive unit, earning some success, but achieved no victories throughout the year. With increased sponsorship and support in 2005, the team was able to increase its numbers, and everything that was learned from the previous year was applied. The team has enjoyed great successes the following years. More importantly, the community has regarded the SDBC Elite Cycling Team as “the team to beat.” Our program’s intentions are to provide riders with the opportunity to race as a team. We are united by the common goal of achieving success, in the form of race victories, solid team riding, etc. Our tactics do not revolve around one person, but rather support our best chance at achieving success. The athletes who commit to riding for our program do so without letting this interfere with individual ambitions. The result has been a group of riders who value hard work, and achieve success even if they must sacrifice for another member’s chances. The SDBC Elite Cycling Team spawned from the highly recognized San Diego Bicycle Club, the largest club in Southern California. With the club fully supporting our team’s efforts, members of the elite team show their appreciation by being available to the club’s population. The SDBC Elite Cycling Team prides itself on being a highly organized group due to the efforts of some very dedicated people. With continued support, the SDBC Elite Cycling team will remain the pinnacle of team unity in Southern California for years to come.   Return to top
